  • Meet skilled instructors and explore various artistic techniques and creative processes

The festival is primarily for those aged 15–35, and spots will be given to this age group first. If you are outside this age range and would like to participate, you can express your interest by emailing Moa Johansson, at moa@thegreatjourney.se. If there are available spots, we may be able to offer you a place.

The event will be held in Swedish, but non-Swedish speakers are welcome to participate. Some workshop leaders may be able to assist in English, and we will do our best to make everyone feel included.

workshops

At Gamecraft Festival Värmland, you’ll have the chance to participate in inspiring workshops.

We will offer workshops in board game mechanics, casting board game miniatures in tin, and creating game characters in clay. You register to participate in one of the workshops. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced creator, there’s something for you!

Tin casting with Joel

Do you want to try tin casting? In this workshop, you will learn the basics of tin casting and get hands-on experience with sand casting. The workshop is led by Joel Landberg, who will demonstrate different casting techniques and guide you through the entire process – from preparing the sand mold to completing the final cast.

About Joel

Joel has been working in game development since 2006, when he started at Tarsier Studios in Karlshamn. He has worked as a 3D artist at several game studios and has spent the past seven years as an art director at Mirage Game Studios in Karlstad. In addition to his work in the gaming industry, he runs Irrbloss Miniatures, where he sculpts and casts figures in tin.

Board Game Mechanics Design with Felix

Board games are built on clever and engaging mechanics—the rules that govern the game, how players interact, and what the objective is. In this workshop, led by Felix Falk, you will explore and experiment with game mechanics by analyzing a popular game and developing your own game ideas. Whether you're a beginner or have experience in board game design, you're welcome to join!

About felix

Felix is a board game designer and has published the games Springvikarierna, Snille & Skrivkramp, and Christmas Parade. In his daily life, he works as a high school teacher, but he is passionate about playing and creating board games. He also regularly lectures on game design at Kristinehamn Folk High School and their program Skapa världar.
