Opening up the past events for remote participation has helped us to reach more people and studios, but being able to have The Great Summer Pitch onsite is something we have dreamed of!
This blog will be a small retelling of the evening with pictures!
🎤 The pitching teams
We had 8 great teams/studios pitching this year with the chance to win up to 100K and a seat in our accelerator. They did pitch training with our Game Producer and Business Developer Mikael beforehand to sharpen their decks and presentation skills and we are so proud of all of them for their achievement on the night of the event. For some, the summer pitch was their first time pitching and for others, it was their second and third time. This opened up a great learning experience and to test the market for their games, for both pitchers and audience, and we were delighted to see some of the last year's winners join in among the crowd of supporters.
Here is the lineup of pitching teams/studios and their socials below!
Skildra Storytelling Studios with their game Tidstrollet
Shaping games with their game Build electric cars with Mulle Meck
Anna Nilsson and Ethel Fridell with their game Tavern Keeper
Shotgun Anaconda with their game Small witch with a big stick
Big Yeti Games with their game TBA
Lucas Ludin with his game Honeymancer
Fading light with their game Fading Light
Omniscapes Interactive with their game Flipscapes
The Panel
We are so grateful and excited for this year's panel, which gave great feedback to our teams and studios' pitching. They asked all the important questions, challenged our pitchers to develop their pitches further, and were supportive and professional in their approach.
We would like to give a shoutout and a huge thank you to our lovely panel!
⭐ Linn-Marie Edlund at Amplifier Game Invest
⭐ Vic Bassey at Bright Gambit
⭐ Sofia Lindh at Aurora Punks
⭐ Mattias Sandström at Cold Pixel
The After-party
For the first time, we could enjoy and celebrate the games industry in Värmland together and in person! So we set up the after-party and invited all our non-pitching teams and studios to showcase their games, among them this year's Fasttrack-participants show off their games!
Dynamic Arms VR is developed by Forgebyte Studios. The studio has just graduated from our Fasttrack-program 2021/22.
Octane Remix is developed by Team Velocita. The studio has just graduated from our Fasttrack-program 2021/22
The Drag King show!
After the People's Choice voting was done we had the absolute pleasure to introduce Sigmund von König, an amazing drag king who performed some excellent lip-sync and dance together with a killer standup act!
The artist behind Sigmund von König is part of our community, graduate from our Fasttrack program, and we had the pleasure of hosting their first live performance!
Support them over on their Instagram!
🎉The Winners
After a great deliberation by the panel, who appointed the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and the audience who voted for the People's Choice award we could present the winners of The Great Summer Pitch 2022!

WInner of 50 000 SEK

Build Electric Cars With Mulle Meck is a sandbox game where players build their own electric cars which they drive to explore the world. The type of car and availability of charging stations for the car battery limits the initial range of the player. They need to help out other characters, overcome obstacles and compete in mini-games to receive new parts for electric cars and build sustainably powered charging stations on the map.

I asked Barbara, part of Omniscapes, how she felt right after the announcement and she summarized the whole experience for me:
"It feels like a dream!"
I want to thank everyone who joined us for the third run of The Great Summer Pitch!
Without you, we would have been alone in that locale.
I also want to give a great thank you to my colleagues!
Without your tireless work, this event would never have happened.
